Summit Founded in 1982

Founded as Summit Oil in 1982, Summit began business as a manufacturer of synthetic lubricants serving the air compressor industry. The Summit product line has grown to include lubricants and oils for gas compressors, refrigeration, gears, hydraulic units, oven conveyor chains, food-grade applications and specialty uses.

As the lubricant line expanded to meet market conditions, so began our chemical line. Responding to distributor needs for an effective descaler, our research staff met the challenge in 1985 with the company’s first chemical compound.

Chemical Division Expands

The Summit chemical division has since developed into a full line of industry-leading specialty descalers and degreasers, with Sublime as the flagship of the group. Similarly, Summit began making oil/water separators in 1990 because it complimented the needs of air compressor systems and was a natural fit for our product line and distribution channels.

Recognizing our expanded product lines and growing market presence, in 1995, we changed our name from Summit Oil to Summit Industrial Products.
